Baitul Mukkaram is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Founded in 2002 and currently governed by an 11-member board of directors, the mosque is located in the heart of Washington, D.C., and aims to serve all Muslim residents of Washington. Baitul Mukkaram Masjid aspires to build a community based on Islamic principles of equality, brotherhood, mutual help, and spreading Islamic knowledge, which is why the mosque has also founded educational programs for adults and children.
