Established more than forty years ago, the Denver Islamic Society (DIS) or Masjid Al-Nur serves as a masjid and an Islamic center for Denver's larger metropolitan area. The Denver Islamic Society is a three-story building with a multi-purpose meeting area, office space, separate prayer halls for men and women, about 4,000 sq. ft. of classrooms, a warming kitchen, and a library. Denver Islamic Society offers various religious and educational programs, including Arabic, Qur'an/Hadith, interfaith dialogue, and lecture series on topics like Aqeeda, Fiqh, and Seerah.

 

The center is also involved in many activities to support the community, such as marital services, funeral services, cultural programs, social events, and refugee assistance. Youth programs are also arranged to engage the younger community, such as Boy/Girl Scouts. In addition to the daily congregational prayers, the masjid also arranges Eid prayers and Tarawih prayers during Ramadan and observes Islamic holidays.

2. Lady Fatima Center

 

Initiated in 2011, Lady Fatima Center is a mosque and community center that accommodates the Shia Muslim community in the metro Denver area. The mosque welcomes everyone seeking spiritual and religious upliftment and follows the teachings of the Holy Quran, the Prophet Muhammad, and his family. Although Lady Fatima Center only hosts Jummah prayers, it organizes programs to educate and enlighten the Muslim community. These include youth groups, Quran/Hadith classes, and religious lectures.

 

Moreover, the Jafari Islamic School holds classes for children ages four and 16 every Sunday. Lady Fatima Center also offers many services to help the community. Services for Islamic Nikkah and issuance of marriage certificates are available. The center also offers funeral services, including washing, shrouding, and burial. 3. Colorado Muslim Society

 

The Colorado Muslim Society (CMS) or Masjid Abu Bakr, was included and registered with the State of Colorado in 1964. It serves as the largest and most prominent non-profit, religious, cultural, non-political, social, educational, and humanitarian Muslim organization in the suburb of Aurora, just southeast of Denver. Sitting on two acres of land, Masjid Abu Bakr is Denver's only Islamic center that resembles a conventional mosque, featuring a large dome with an adjacent minaret.

 

The mosque also includes an outdoor play area. Masjid Abu Bakr is finalizing its multi-million-dollar expansion, which will double the area of its prayer facilities. The Colorado Muslim Society aims to preserve the best interests of Islam and the Muslim community in Colorado. The masjid arranges many dialogues and Dawah activities for women, men, young adults, and children to educate them about the Holy Quran and the Sunnah. Moreover, a multi-purpose hall hosts celebrations such as Nikah, Walima, and Aqeeqa and can accommodate 800 people. 4. Mile High Islamic Center

 

The Bosnian Educational and Cultural Center of Colorado runs the Mile High Islamic Center. Established by the area's Bosnian Muslim community, the center welcomes believers of all races, denominations, and ethnicities. 5. Masjid Al-Shuhada​

 

The Downtown Denver Islamic Center, more commonly known as Masjid Al-Shuhada, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization providing a welcoming and secure space for the diverse and dynamic Muslim community of native Muslims and immigrants. The masjid aims to preach and practice the teachings of Islam through educational, religious, spiritual, and recreational activities. Besides organizing the daily congregational Salah during prayer times in Denver, Masjid Al-Shuhada also organizes Tarawih during Ramadan and Eid Congregational Prayers.
