2. North Austin Muslim Community Center 

 

The North Austin Muslim Community Center started with a group of Muslim men praying at a local residential home in 1990. It soon became a nonprofit and was moved into a building on North Lamar Boulevard. The group of Muslims worked hard for the next few years and raised funds to purchase land for a permanent mosque. Eventually, they found a building that would serve their purposes and raised enough funds to buy it. In December 1996, the new mosque opened. Later, the management purchases two more buildings for the Imam's living quarters and a Sunday School.

 

The Center provides the following services:

The Islamic Center of Brushy Creek is a nonprofit organization that was created in 2007 to serve the needs of the community in North West Austin. It is recognized as a 501(c)(3) organization.
