2. Masjid Al-Ahad

 

Masjid Al-Ahad was founded in 2008 and has served Katy's Muslim community for almost 15 years. The mosque is currently running inside a small, rented place in Katy, but with donations from the community as well as support from the generous people of Houston, plans to build a larger, permanent Masjid with a cultural center are underway. Masjid Al-Ahad aims to preach Islam to Muslims and non-Muslims and equip them with the knowledge they require to overcome the difficulties of modern society. Founded in 2006, the thriving Muslim American Society (MAS) Katy Center serves as a mosque and a community center for the Muslims of Katy and Houston. 4. Al-Firdous Musalla – West Katy Islamic Center (WKIC)

 

The West Katy Islamic Center (WKIC) and mosque is a relatively new religious center in Katy that provides educational, religious, social, and charitable programs for the Muslim community. WKIC believes in propagating Islam, promoting religious learning, and indulging in community service. Since the number of community members visiting the mosque is close to 150, WKIC is working to obtain a large space, after which they will also begin to offer weekly Friday prayers. Located 27 minutes from Katy in Sugar Land is the beautifully constructed Masjid At-Taqwa. Besides congregational prayers, the mosque offers many programs and services for its community, including weekly Quran classes, counseling services, marriage services, Zakat distribution, and funeral services. Besides religious and social services, Masjid At-Taqwa also provides medical services under the Houston Shifa Services Foundation non-profit organization.

 

Operating since 1998, the Shifa Clinic at the mosque offers affordable medical treatment for everyone, irrespective of religion; family, pediatric, dental, and ophthalmic (eye) care is available.
