Masjid Ar-Rahman was established in 1990 after Muslims working in the downtown area felt the absence of a dedicated place to gather for prayer. They used the basement of a hotel and a church before settling on the present-day location. The Masjid has proper wudu facilities and restrooms. It also has separate bathrooms and a prayer hall for women. In addition to daily and Friday prayers, the Masjid offers Arabic classes for individuals who wish to learn the language.
Masjid AR-Rahman also provides Hajj and Umrah services for those who want to make the holy pilgrimage. It serves as a center for guidance and advice for first-time travelers who have not traveled before and would like support regarding accommodation and itineraries. Parking may be challenging as it is in a busy area, but street parking is available. Unfortunately, the prayer hall is not wheelchair accessible yet.

Assefa Islamic Center is an important religious center for Muslims in the New York City area. Commissioned by the Islamic Council of America in 1976, Madina Masjid is the second oldest Masjid in New York City. The Islamic Council of America was set up as a corporation at that time under the leadership of Mujibur Rahman Chishti. The council was then moved to its present-day location, and a building was purchased to be used as a mosque where worshippers could gather to pray.
The contributions of loyal supporters helped in the purchase of the building that is currently being used. The Masjid is now collecting donations for the construction of a new mosque.
